CallLuge

Call Tracking Phone Numbers or simply call tracking numbers, are numbers used by businesses and marketers to track and measure the effectiveness of their advertising and marketing campaigns. These numbers are unique to each campaign and are assigned to specific marketing channels such as TV, radio, print ads, and online ads.

When the call is made, call tracking software captures valuable data such as the caller’s phone number, the time of the call, the duration of the call, how many times the caller called, the location of the caller, the call page etc. This information is stored and analyzed to provide insights into which campaigns are driving the most calls and which channels are delivering the highest ROI. Call tracking phone numbers also provide valuable insights into customer behavior and preferences.

Basically we need to purchase a unique number for each Campaign (Direct/Organic/Paid) . We can purchase Toll free numbers or Local Numbers as per the client’s needs.

Different Types of Call Tracking Numbers

Toll-free Number: Customers can call for businesses on this number without any call charges. The business pays all the charges for incoming and outgoing calls instead of the caller. These numbers are phone numbers with a specific prefix, such as 800, 888, or 877, that allow customers to call the business for free. Toll-free numbers are often used for customer service and support, and businesses can use them to track calls and leads from specific marketing campaigns.

Local number: Phone Number that starts with an area code specifically for a particular region, city, or state. Many potential customers prefer to support local businesses, and a local number will allow you to advertise your company within the community. For example, a business might use a local phone number with a New York area code to track calls from customers in the New York area.
After logging to a particular account, We can see the Dashboard of that particular client account as below.

Javascript Rewrites
In this section, we can set the rewrite rule for number changing for each medium. Also CallLuge rewrite script can be copied from this section. The CallLuge script replaces the client’s original number with the Call tracking Number based on the rewrite rule.

Implementation

We need to place the below callLuge rewrite script on your website just before the closing of the body tag. The unq_id for each client will be different.

<script type=”text/javascript”> unq_id = “CLU_353″;</script><script type=”text/javascript” src=”https://app.callluge.com/cctsp/calltrack.js“></script>

Call tracking won’t work in below Scenarios

The phone number is an image

The phone number is not clickable

The phone number link has more than just the number in it

The phone number is vanity, like 1800-CLICK

Testing  Number Changing in Website

We need to check Number changing on different mediums like Direct, Organic, Paid Mediums. Here the inbound number is the number that is displayed in the site front end.

The numbers are changing from the forward number to Inbound numbers.

Medium refers to how the website’s traffic arrived at your site.

On Direct Medium : Users arrive at the website via a saved link or by entering your URL.

For Eg: if we take the URL(https://www.evokelearning.ca) directly, then the number will be changed as (833) 988-4146 as set in the CallLuge settings.

On Organic Medium : Users arrive at the website via non-ad links by clicking on the Google search results.

For Eg: If we get the URL by searching in Google, Then number will be changed to (833) 567-3544 as as set in the CallLuge settings.

On Paid Medium : Users arrive at the website via ads on search-engine sites like Bing, Google.

For Eg: https://www.evokelearning.ca/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Veloce&_vsrefdom=cpc-google number changed as (833) 722-5252
